Victoria Park’s History
Victoria Park’s 95-year history is as rich and diverse as Brisbane’s own.
Before becoming a golf complex, the site served many purposes, including a quarry, a rifle range, and an encampment for American troops during World War II. In 1931, Brisbane City Council transformed the land into a nine-hole municipal golf course and clubhouse.
In 1999, the Bickle family successfully tendered to operate the Victoria Park clubhouse and develop new facilities. Under their leadership, Victoria Park evolved into one of Brisbane’s busiest and most loved lifestyle precincts.
Over the following decades, the venue evolved into a unique multi-use destination combining golf, hospitality, events, and entertainment, welcoming more than 500,000 visitors each year.
Victoria Park’s next chapter, as the future home of Brisbane’s Olympic Stadium now awaits.
